Ephesians Prayer Guide – Day 15

be the change

Ephesians Prayer Guide - Day 15

We have all been given new identities, yet so often we allow ourselves to be identified with things other than Jesus (our past, our failures, our children, our marriage, our job, our things…). An army of believers who KNOW who they are and who walk in it – will change the world – starting with our community!

Read and pray though Ephesians 4:17-24

So with the wisdom given to me from the Lord I say: You should not live like the unbelievers around you who walk in their empty delusions.18 Their corrupted logic has been clouded because their hearts are so far from God—their blinded understanding and deep-seated moral darkness keeps them from the true knowledge of God. 19 Because of spiritual apathy, they surrender their lives to lewdness, impurity, and sexual obsession.
20 But this is not the way of life that Christ has unfolded within you. 21 If you have really experienced the Anointed One, and heard his truth, it will be seen in your life; for we know that the ultimate reality is embodied in Jesus!

22 And he has taught you to let go of the lifestyle of the ancient man,the old self – life, which was corrupted by sinful and deceitful desires that spring from delusions. 23 Now it’s time to be made new by every revelation that’s been given to you. 24 And to be transformed as you embrace the glorious Christ-within as your new life and live in union with him! For God has re-created you all over again in his perfect righteousness, and you now belong to him in the realm of true holiness. TPT™

We are a people who should be defined by the Lord, not by the world.  Who does HE say you are?  As men and women who serve the Almighty God, whose opinion matters more?  Whose “opinion” in the REAL Truth?  Yours, your parents, your spouse, your boss, your children…or HIS?

We should never live defeated lives.  I don’t claim to have the answers to all of life’s problems, but I do know the Word is living and active (Hebrews 4:12) and has the power to break strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4), break every chain (Psalm 107:14) set every captive free (Isaiah 61:1) and renew my mind (Romans 12:2).  THIS is where I am placing my faith.  In my areas of struggle, in every place I am believing lies, I take scripture and speak it/pray it until it presses into all those shadowy places and transforms me.

The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity. 2 Corinthians 10:4-6 MSG

I choose to take every thought and make it obedient to Christ.  Pray that He would permeate your thoughts and your words.

Let the Truth of 2 Corinthians 4:9, 17-21 (read the whole chapter if you have time – it is so rich and beautiful) settle deep down within you…

So whether we live or die we make it our life’s passion to live our lives pleasing to him…

Now, if anyone is enfolded into Christ, he has become an entirely new creation. All that is related to the old order has vanished. Behold, everything is fresh and new. 18 And God has made all things new,and reconciled us to himself, and given us the ministry of reconciling others to God. 19 In other words, it was through the Anointed One that God was shepherding the world, not even keeping records of their transgressions, and he has entrusted to us the ministry of opening the door of reconciliation to God. 20 We are ambassadors of the Anointed One who carry the message of Christ to the world, as though God were tenderly pleading with them directly through our lips. So we tenderly plead with you on Christ’s behalf, “Turn back to God and be reconciled to him.” 21 For God made the only one who did not know sin to become sin for us, so that we who did not know righteousness might become the righteousness of God through our union with him. TPT™

I know my worth.  I know my value.  I belong to Him!

We are meant to BE THE CHANGE in our culture.  We should walk into a room and find the atmosphere changes because we carry His presence in with us.  We are meant to be world-changers, ambassadors, beacons and a voice that speaks hope.

We must first know our own value before we can walk out the FULL calling He has created us for.  Invite Him in to speak to all those broken spaces in your heart, to all the lies you are believing, and to all the fears and inadequacies that consume you.

God, I invite your searching gaze into my heart.
Examine me through and through;
find out everything that may be hidden within me.
Put me to the test and sift through all my anxious cares.
24 See if there is any path of pain I’m walking on,
and lead me back to your glorious, everlasting ways—
the path that brings me back to you. Psalm 139:23-24 TPT™

Let us walk most confidently and assuredly with who He says we are!
Meditate on the picture of baptism today.  Mediate on the Word that will bring breakthrough for your situation.

PRAYER: Glorious Father, Almighty God – if we press into the identities the world places on us, we will come up wanting.  If we press into what YOU say about us, we are undone, as we are so undeserving in and of ourselves.  Thank you that You see us through the lens of Jesus.  Let us truly come alive when we embrace what you say about us.  Let Your Church truly come alive to what you say WE are!  May WE shine for Your Glory!  In His holy and precious name, Amen!
