Ephesians Prayer Guide - Day 14

Let us fully embrace all that God wants to give us – to edify the body. Let us become so hungry that milk will no longer satisfy. Let our churches grow to feed this hunger – not because we go to church to be fed, but because those who are seeking are looking for TRUTH! Let us not be a people who are lukewarm, but a people who are deeply passionate and on fire!

Pray Ephesians 4:7-16

And he has generously given each one of us supernatural grace, according to the size of the gift of Christ. 8 This is why he says: “He ascends into the heavenly heights taking his many captured ones with him, and gifts were given to men.”

9 He “ascended” means that he returned to heaven, after he had first descended from the heights of heaven, even descending as far as the lowest parts of the earth. 10 The same one who descended is also the one who ascended above the heights of heaven, in order to begin the restoration and fulfillment of all things.

11 And he has appointed some with grace to be apostles, and some with grace to be prophets, and some with grace to be evangelists, and some with grace to be pastors, and some with grace to be teachers.12 And their calling is to nurture and prepare all the holy believers to do their own works of ministry, and as they do this they will enlarge and build up the body of Christ. 13 These grace ministries will function until we all attain oneness in the faith, until we all experience the fullness of what it means to know the Son of God, and finally we become one perfect man with the full dimensions of spiritual maturity and fully developed in the abundance of Christ.

14 And then our immaturity will end! And we will not be easily shaken by trouble, nor led astray by novel teachings or by the false doctrines of deceivers who teach clever lies. 15 But instead we will remain strong and always sincere in our love as we express the truth. All our direction and ministries will flow from Christ and lead us deeper into him, the anointed Head of his body, the church.

16 For his “body” has been formed in his image and is closely joined together and constantly connected as one. And every member has been given divine gifts to contribute to the growth of all; and as these gifts operate effectively throughout the whole body, we are built up and made perfect in love. TPT™

We ARE a people set-apart!  We are His perfect workmanship and created to represent the unity inherent in our triune God.   Together – we are more complete than apart.  The fullness of what He has in mind is only achieved when we each do our part; we each have something to offer to the body!  And each church has something to offer to the Bride.

For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us]. Ephesians 2:10 AMP

Then I heard something like the shout of a vast multitude, and like the boom of many pounding waves, and like the roar of mighty peals of thunder, saying, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, [the Omnipotent, the Ruler of all] reigns. 7 Let us rejoice and shout for joy! Let us give Him glory and honor, for the marriage of the Lamb has come [at last] and His bride (the redeemed) has prepared herself.” 8 She has been permitted to dress in fine linen, dazzling white and clean—for the fine linen signifies the righteous acts of the saints [the ethical conduct, personal integrity, moral courage, and godly character of believers]. Revelation 19:6-8 BSB (Berean Study Bible)

WE have been reborn; we are” spiritually transformed, renewed and ready to be used”! The life of the Godhead is to be exemplified by the Church.  Are we representing?  Are we, the Bride, ready?  Have we prepared ourselves?

Concerning him we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. 12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant.14 But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil. Hebrews 5:11-14 NASB

“Blessed [joyful, nourished by God’s goodness] are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness [those who actively seek right standing with God], for they will be [completely] satisfied.  Matthew 5:6 AMP

Part of our journey to readiness is contingent upon our hunger and thirst.  Lukewarmness, apathy and passivity will not cut it if we want to be a Church ready.  We must no longer settle for milk.  Let’s ready ourselves (the Bride must get ready; the Bridegroom doesn’t do it for her) for solid food – let’s hunger and thirst for righteousness (“crave righteouness” TPT)!

We must get to the place where we are no longer satisfied.  “We want more of you God!”

PRAYER: We want more of you God!  We are no longer satisfied with the paltry offerings of this world.  Only YOU will do.  Let us be people who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for only then will we be satisfied.  Help us to each know our part to contribute to the body; and let us know any insecurities and inadequacies that are hindering us.  We choose to partner with what YOU say about us and anything that is not of you, we lay at the foot of the cross.  We belong because we are Yours first.  Let Your Bride grown in her readiness; let each one of us grow in our own readiness.  We love you Abba!  In Jesus’ holy and precious name we pray, Amen!
