Jesus Fulfills the Impossible

Father, you are good. Your love endures forever.  There is no end and there is no beginning. You are alpha and omega, beginning and end, aleph and tav (more on this another day – this is powerful!). You were and always have been.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:1-5, 14, NIV)

NOTHING existed apart from Him (plural). HE spoke the WORD and it came to be. And then, this creation He spoke into being, the man He created…stepped into SIN, separating him from his Almighty Creator, the Holy One; the one who was once his companion in the garden was now seemingly distant, inaccessible. “Accessibility” was only made possible through perfect blood sacrifice – a symbolic ceremony of atonement – of setting things “right” – for that moment.  And even that, was a shadow of what could be.  (Read Hebrews 10 to learn more about this.)

Then, Jesus. Jesus came onto the scene! Jesus – through His birth, life, death and resurrection – fulfilled over 300 prophecies. These prophecies were written hundreds of years before Jesus’ birth and the last prophecies written over 400 years before He was ever born. These prophecies were divinely inspired predictions/revelations pointing to the Messiah. These  Messianic Prophecies foretold of His birth, of His death AND of His resurrection!

Mathematically speaking, according to Mathematics & Astronomy Professor Peter W. Stoner, the statistical probability of “1 person fulfilling 8 prophecies is 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000; 1 person fulfilling 48 prophecies is 1 chance in 10 to the 157th power; and 1 person fulfilling 300+ prophecies: only Jesus!”

Let’s read the same passage from above again, in the Passion Translation.

In the very beginning the Living Expression was already there.
And the Living Expression was with God, yet fully God.
They were together—face-to-face, in the very beginning.
And through his creative inspiration
this Living Expression made all things,
for nothing has existence apart from him!
Life came into being because of him,
for his life is light for all humanity.
And this Living Expression is the Light that bursts through gloom—
the Light that darkness could not diminish!

For the Light of Truth was about to come into the world
and shine upon everyone.
He entered into the very world he created,
yet the world was unaware.
He came to the very people he created—
to those who should have recognized him,
but they did not receive him.
But those who embraced him and took hold of his name
were given authority to become
the children of God!
He was not born by the joining of human parents
or from natural means, or by a man’s desire,
but he was born of God.
And so the Living Expression
became a man and lived among us!
And we gazed upon the splendor of his glory,
the glory of the One and Only
who came from the Father overflowing
with tender mercy and truth! (John 1:1-5, 9-14 TPT)

Show us your glory!

We are citizens not of this world but of a Kingdom realm. Every day we have to choose to surrender our lives, our agendas and our need to be in control. Join us as He transforms our lives together!

[convertkit form=2008501]

He was with God! He was God! Together (I won’t even pretend to understand this), this triune God – who created a people that became separated by sin – CHOSE to make a way. This God, my God, our God, CHOSE to make a way to reconcile us back to Him!

He stepped in.  He lived among us.  He knew the reality of living and walking in this broken world.  The all-knowing God KNEW what He was getting into.  And YET, He stepped into the darkness to illuminate the way.  He sent Jesus to be the LIGHT, the beacon, the way of hope, the ONLY way!  We do not need to pay our way towards this love.  He IS love!  He alone makes the way!  Our only job is to say YES to what He did for us.  He gave His life so we might live!

For you know that your lives were ransomed once and for all from the empty and futile way of life handed down from generation to generation. It was not a ransom payment of silver and gold, which eventually perishes, but the precious blood of Christ—who like a spotless, unblemished lamb was sacrificed for us. This was part of God’s plan, for he was chosen and destined for this before the foundation of the earth was laid, but he has been made manifest in these last days for you. It is through him that you now believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, so that you would fasten your faith and hope in God alone. (1 Peter 1:18-21, TPT)

I am forever changed!  The old has gone, the new has come; I am a new creation in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17).

My old identity has been co-crucified with Messiah and no longer lives; for the nails of his cross crucified me with him. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives his life through me—we live in union as one! My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God who loves me so much that he gave himself for me, and dispenses his life into mine! (Galatians 2:20, TPT)

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me… (Galatians 2:20, NASB)

It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me! Christ in me – the hope of Glory!

…to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (Colossians 1:27, NASB)

Living within you is the Christ who floods you with the expectation of glory! This mystery of Christ, embedded within us, becomes a heavenly treasure chest of hope filled with the riches of glory for his people, and God wants everyone to know it! (Colossians 1:27, TPT)

While my identity is still marred this side of heaven, I still choose to press in, setting my inadequacies aside and allow Him to change me from the inside out.  It is journey to say the least, and it is often messy and painful to look my sin in the face.  And yet, and yet, I have seen Him unearth treasures through the storms and the miry pits!  So, today, I will press in and keep my eyes above the waves.  I will look for Him in the midst of my life today and I will stay in that place of blessed assurance.  I thank God that He is faithful in working out His beauty in this broken vessel of clay.

PRAYER:  Lord, you alone are worthy of my praise and my life!  May I SHINE for You – with the expectancy of what is yet to come and with the hope of glory!  May others see Jesus in me today!
