Ephesians Prayer Guide – Day 18

Ephesians Prayer Guide - Day 18

We need to pay attention to how we live. Our lives are a constant advertisement either for or against the One who saves. Are our lives pointing to HIM or do we just look like the rest of the world? The bar has been raised – let’s rise up to His Call!

Pray Ephesians 5:15-21

So be very careful how you live, not being like those with no understanding, but live honorably with true wisdom, for we are living in evil times. Take full advantage of every day as you spend your life for his purposes. 17 And don’t live foolishly for then you will have discernment to fully understand God’s will. 18 And don’t get drunk with wine, which is rebellion; instead be filled with the fullness of the Holy Spirit. 19 And your hearts will overflow with a joyful song to the Lord Jehovah. Keep speaking to each other with words of Scripture, singing the Psalms with praises and spontaneous songs given by the Spirit! 20 Always give thanks to Father God for every person he brings into your life in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 21 And out of your reverence for Christ be supportive of each other in love. TPT™

Every day is a new day.  Every day is an opportunity to live for him, an opportunity to make choices that elevate Him or elevate self.  My citizenship (Philippians 3:20) should be on display in how I live!  Am I marked by heaven or am I marked by the world?  “Take full advantage of every day as you spend your life for HIS purposes.”

Our overindulgence, our drunkenness should be in that of His Spirit.  We should be intoxicated by His presence and ever pursuant of it!  The by product of this is hearts overflowing in joyful song.

Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvelous mercies? I encourage you to surrender yourselves to God to be his sacred, living sacrifices. And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights his heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship.

2 Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes. Romans 12:1-2 TPT™

How do we respond to His goodness, His mercy, His kindness, His love?  We offer our lives up – as living sacrifices – sacrifices that are marked by holiness.  THIS becomes an act of WORSHIP; when we say He is enough!  Are we living our lives such that they are holy?

We are to be holy as He is holy!

I have given them your message
and that is why the unbelieving world hates them.
For their allegiance is no longer to this world
because I am not of this world.
15 I am not asking that you remove them from the world,
but I ask that you guard their hearts from evil,
16 For they no longer belong to this world any more than I do.
17 “Your Word is truth! So make them holy by the truth.
18 I have commissioned them to represent me
just as you commissioned me to represent you.
19 And now I dedicate myself to them as a holy sacrifice
so that they will live as fully dedicated to God
and be made holy by your truth.  John 17:14-19 TPT™

Pray for unity – not a house divided or a house in discord, but a house of people who love Jesus! Let our interactions not be a reflection of politics but a reflection of Him!  Let us press in to represent the Kingdom we are eternal citizens of!

Let’s pray the above passage:

PRAYER: Father, we pray that our allegiance would fully be for the Kingdom and not for this world.  While we cannot be removed from this world, we pray that you would guard our hearts from evil.  We no longer belong to this world; we belong to You!  Your Word is truth!  Make us holy by the truth.  We have been commissioned to represent You just as Jesus was commissioned to represent you.  As He offered himself as a holy sacrifice, we pray that we would live our lives fully dedicated to You and be made holy by your truth!
In the name above all other names we pray, Amen.
