Alignment - a Pentecost Shift
I believe there is a battle in the heavenlies – on behalf of this nation, on behalf of this world. We are in a crossroads like never before. For many intercessors, we sense the shift. It’s as if the Earth has gotten out of alignment and we are waiting for the Lord to make an adjustment. But, I sense an alignment that has never been achieved before – I sense movement for the Bride (the Church) to rise up, casting aside her worldly robe and adornments and donning instead her heavenly garments.
I will sing and greatly rejoice in Yahweh!
My whole being vibrates
with shouts of joy in my God!
For he has dressed me with salvation
and wrapped me in the robe of his righteousness!
I appear like a bridegroom on his wedding day,
decked out with a beautiful sash,
or like a radiant bride adorned with sparkling jewels.
In the same way the earth produces its crops
and seeds spring up in a garden,
so will the Lord Yahweh cause righteousness and praise
to blossom before all the nations! Isaiah 61:10-11 TPT™
We are in the last days between Passover and Pentecost 2020. So much emphasis has been placed on this time, believing Passover to be a prophetic picture of what the Lord is doing with Covid-19 and the Church. Pentecost feels like the joyful anticipation of His abundance poured out – it is the hope and the prayer of His Bride.
Pour out Your Spirit Lord! We want more of You!
“If you read the book of Acts following Pentecost, there is a noticeable shift in the attitude of the apostles. The biggest change is not in their level of spiritual power to perform miracles or their Kingdom authority over the works of the devil – it is their OUTRIGHT BOLDNESS to CONFRONT THE OPPOSITION. The significant impartation they received on the day of Pentecost was a heaven-sent outpouring of courage to challenge the very people they used to fear. No longer bound to the fear of man, the zeal of the Lord emboldened them to be the very change agents they had been praying about for generations.”
-Wanda Alger, “This Pentecost is Not Just About Revival or Awakening – It’s About Boldness”
What a powerful word! Imagine what next weekend and the weeks ahead hold? Will there be a physical shaking, a visible-outward sign of Holy Spirit pouring out afresh on us, or an empowerment from on high? I don’t know, but I do sense the shift.
If you WANT more, will you press in for it? Will you lay aside your own thoughts, agenda and ideas for the Church, for your family, for yourself – and instead ask the Lord to push in – for His purposes and plans to prevail?
As I pray, I see this picture of a tsunami. I see a rushing in and a taking over – the old guard being taken out and the new guard being established. Whether it be actual people or not, I don’t know. But I sense a laying aside of worldly pursuits exchanged for a heavenly agenda – a boldness, a fervor, a fierceness – and yet fully bathed in the love of Christ!
“Proclaim this among the nations: Prepare for war! Rouse the warriors! Let all the fighting men draw near and attack. Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weakling say, “I am strong!” Come quickly, all you nations from every side, and assemble there. Bring down your warriors, Lord!…
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.
“In that day the mountains will drip new wine, and the hills will flow with milk; all the ravines of Judah will run with water. A fountain will flow out of the Lord’s house and will water the valley of acacias.”
Joel 3:9-11, 14, 18 NIV
The harvest is coming! Are we willing, as a Church, to be that voice that speaks louder than the culture? Will we carry Truth as our rampart as well as our banner? Are we willing to be a voice that raises holiness as the standard? And at the same time, can we carry this mandate boldly and yet fully enveloped in Love?
Are we praying for our church and our leaders? Are we praying for our government and our president? Are we praying for our neighbors, our co-workers and our friends?
Can we be a voice of HOPE in the midst of such uncertainty?
People are hungry and desperate for the Truth. I see people grasping at judgments or fear. Can we be a people who SHINE because our feet and our hope are steadfast on the ROCK? Can we be a calm, steady voice speaking boldly and unapologetically:
I know the Way and His name is Jesus!
For this reason also [because He obeyed and so completely humbled Himself], God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW [in submission], of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess and openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord (sovereign God), to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11 AMP
There is “a time to be silent and a time to speak…” Ecclesiastes 3:7
And yet we are told to keep a guard over our mouth (Proverbs 21:23, Psalm 141:3). There is great WISDOM in allowing the Holy Spirit to lead and guide our words (Luke 12:12)! I think there are two issues pressing in right now – can we speak in LOVE and will be speak BOLDLY? We have a responsibility – a commission from our King!
“Son of man, I’ve made you a watchman for the family of Israel. Whenever you hear me say something, warn them for me. If…you don’t sound the alarm warning them that it’s a matter of life or death, they will die and it will be your fault. I’ll hold you responsible. But if you warn the wicked and they keep right on sinning anyway, they’ll most certainly die for their sin, but you won’t die. You’ll have saved your life.
“And if the righteous turn back from living righteously and take up with evil when I step in and put them in a hard place, they’ll die. If you haven’t warned them, they’ll die because of their sins, and none of the right things they’ve done will count for anything—and I’ll hold you responsible. But if you warn these righteous people not to sin and they listen to you, they’ll live because they took the warning—and again, you’ll have saved your life.” Ezekiel 3:17-21 MSG
We all have decisions to make as we prepare to pave the way through these unchartered territories. Will you stand up for righteousness and holiness for HIS name’s sake? Will you be an orator and defender of Truth?
I believe this has been a season of preparation. Even if you don’t feel a “work” has been done within you, I do believe your decisions moving forward will be an indicator of WHOSE mantle you are going to carry – the world’s or the One who can use YOU to bring LIFE, change, hope, Truth…
Will you walk out of this season of seclusion with a new mandate and mission?
I believe the world is watching. Will they find Jesus when the see you? Or simply another expression of the world’s voice?
Years from now, when we look at this season in our lives and in our culture, will we simply see a blip on the radar or will we see a major shift? The picture I see is that of the earth’s tectonic plates shifting and a changing in the entire landscape before us.
PRAY: Pray for this physical reorienting in the spiritual realm and in our culture. Pray for the Church. Pray for the SHIFT. Pray that when we would be a people empowered from on high with boldness, fire and resoluteness. Pray that we (the Church) would come to be known as the ones who bring change to the atmosphere simply because we have carried His presence into a space. Pray that the Church would cast aside her worldly robe and adornments and don instead her heavenly garments. Pray for a SURRENDER as in that first Upper Room experience (Pentecost) and for an OUTPOURING of His Spirit.
It’s all about You King Jesus!
